I saw this ad in an issue of Vogue--it stuck out in a periodical full of fashion shots--and thought for a split second that it might not be a marketing ploy and instead a message from a really good cause. I was, of course, wrong.
I paid questioneverything.com a visit and while yes, it appears to offer some neutral advice on weight loss, it is clearly sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline. Would they really sponsor a helpful site without trying to force a drug down consumers' throats? Nah. After some research I found that they're getting ready to market a drug called Xenical, which blocks the absorption of fat. I'm disappointed that on a site dedicated to promoting diet and exercise, that already has a slew of women blogging about their weight woes and offering each other support, they're getting ready to debut a diet pill.
